Can someone please tell me the best way to make a backup of my music CD's. I have been making backups of my DVD's using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, I have no idea on what is best for audio backups. What type of CD media is best? what ripping software works best? and any other tips I would appreciate. I'd also like to see a tutorial so if anyone knows of a good one on this subject please let me know. Thanks in Advance
Thanks for the link but after reading the website I am more confused. I guess my question is do they put copy protection on CD's like they do for DVD's and if so what software or method should be used to copy a music CD
most cd's have some form of copy protection these days, though not as bad as Sony's XCP or whatever it was that attacked in the fall and prevent people from using their optical disc drives or whatever. for the most part, any burning program (Nero, RecordNow, etc) should give you the "copy cd" option to copy music discs. if you're worried about copy protection to the extreme, AnyDVD neutralizes all known protection systems as soon as the disc is placed in the drive, allowing the most basic copy programs to read dvds/cds and reproduce them. for the most part, a blank cd is a blank cd (very much different from dvds). are you wanting to rip to the harddrive and leave your music there, or are you looking to just do 1 to 1 copies onto blanks?
