If you have a low end car sterio it really does not matter what you do. FM transmitters use FM with is about 70 BR which is not very good.

I think you are best off listening to music in one ear than that. That is just my opinon and I am picky.

The best way is use a good car sterio with a input jack or an ipod interface.

I drilled a hole in my dash and plugged a home made 3.5mm female to rca into my aux input in my stereo. Got the parts at radio shack for 3 bucks. A little jb weld holds the jack in place in my dash. A male to male 3.5mm stereo cord and I'm set. I just plug into the headphone receiver with 1 end and the dash with the other. Works like a charm.

That is the way to go if you are handy enough and have a car sterio good enough to have an aux jack.
