womble mpeg video wizard dvd 4.0 is a good one. That's what I use when I want to edit videos. It works great with mpeg2's but it also handles avi and wmv. It has very basic Text/transitions but it does let you add a second audio track. I use to use pinnacle as my video editor, but it was always crashing. It had more features but it proved unreliable to me. Womble has proven to get the job done.
