Yeah I'd have to agree with 'uniique1' on this. Get an Xecuter3 with the Sodlerless Adapter. It's currnently the 'Chip to have'. As for other means of modding. I'd also recomend the Following... X-Tender Casemod (allows you to install up to Three (includeing the Stock HDD) in your XBOX™. It also allows for better Airflow over the HDD's an the MCPX and CPU Chips. So your slightly lees prone to have Heat Crash Problems. A Nice F A T 200~400Gb HDD!! To store all those 'Backups' / Moded Game Content & Movies for the XBMC! The Xecuter Front replacement Panel W/LCD Display! This is what makes having the X3 worthwhile!!
@halofan54 Not sure about the 'LE' (Light Edition), as most likely then not... And we all know what LE means less functionaltly! Oh well I don't know enough about that Chip to really say that though. So I'll digress. As for the Full SmartXX yes that's a fine enough Chip. With that you should be able to have full FTP Access with out having a FTP-able Software (i.e. 3'erd Party Dashboards),. And you could eventualy even add a LCD Display to the front of your XBOX. If you like. Now if you be able to have an LCD on the 'LE' version is qustionable though! But for the above reasions and the X3 Front Panel Mod X3 is the real Hardcore Moders Chip. And it's not going to cost you much more the the SmartXX will. Yes the X3 Panel is Eyecandy. But that's what it's all about! I'm eventualy going to ditch the X-Bit I have now for an X3 so I can geat that Panel and use it with a LCD Screen. I'll probably do this in conjuntion with an Xtenter Case-mod (3x HDD's in 1x XBOX™) and 3x new 400Gb HDD's. Now that's Braging rights for you! An XBOX with a total 1.2Tb of HHD Space on it!
Of course it's your choice but I highly recommend you reconsider your purchase and get the Xecuter3 Chip
I've installed many x3's and i have to agree the x3 ce is a great chip. Probably one of the most dependable chips out there.
hey i want to mod my xbox but what is that screen and how much would all this cost iam thinking of making it white or red w/ blue flames and blue leds or white leds
The X-B.i.t The Modchip I currently own is what could be classifide as a 3'ed Gen Modchip. The fist being the 29-Wire Mod and the 2G being the 'Matix' and 'Chamelion' Chips. The 3G Chips would include the 'Aladin' the 'X-B.i.t' and the 'X2' The Current line of Chips 4G. are the 'X3', 'SmartXX', 'Xenium' amongst others. Unfoutuntlty the LCD Panels are a relitvely new invention for the XBOX™ and only Class 4G Modchips can make any use of 'em. So can you use an X-B.i.t??? Sadly the Answer is no, you can not...

Did I say that?? No I didn't the DMS (X-B.i.t) is a 3G Chip. Thuss YOU CAN NOT USE A LCD SCREEN WITH IT! Only 4G ModChips will be able to use LCD's some of these Chips include (but, are not necessarily limited to the); Xecuter3 SmartXX Xenium Spider and there 'LE' / 'SE' / 'CE' counterparts. All the above can either be Solderd onto the XBOX™ Mainboard or be purchased with an optional Soderless Adapter. And if ca. €50.00(EUR) is to much for you. Try bugging your momy for some Chors that you could to around the House to earn what you need. or just hold out for another Month or so, till you have enough. Or you could just learn to live without the LCD Screen option. As that is another totaly seperate Purchase of IIRC around €30.00~40.00(EUR) in and of itself... Other then the fact that the DMS Chip does not support LCD's thers nothing wrong with it! It's an otherwise very capable and noteworthy Chip. It does everything I need it to do! And that's all I need it to do at the time!
