My user manual makes it seem like it is better to burn onto dvd-ram. I have only burned dvds using my computer before, so my knowledge about dvd recorders is limited to my knowledge about vcr's. I am just starting to read my user manual AFTER I bought some dvd-rw (I have to use the "minus" discs with thus dvd recorder). Basically I am wondering if I should return the dvd-rw discs and just buy some dvd-rams or just go ahead and use the dvd-rw (or maybe buy and use both?) Any tips and experiences are appreciated. In case it matters, I have a Toshiba D-R2SU.
If you are going to save it to keep for keeping sake, burn it on a DVD-R. If you want to record it just so you can watch it later, then don't really care if you keep it, use the DVD-RAM. It's very easy to erase the whole disk, or just the program you recorded. I have a Panasonic, and it uses the same discs as yours. I just bought 40 of the DVD-RAM discs of ebay for around $28. Get 5 or 10 just for recording sake. A DVD-RAM is most like a VHS tape, but a lot easier to index and erase and search. Raymond
