Lately I received a couple of emails offerring new versions of Adobe Flash Player etc..

    http://blog.mxlab.eu/2010/07/27/emails-offering-pdf-reader-2010-lead-to-unsecure-payment-site/#respond

I chose to unsubscribe and my pc’s running at an extremely slow pace. In fact before finding the above article I thought my Hard Disk has been damaged. I’m no noob in computers but this was very unlikely of me, usually I just block them through the anti-virus email filter.

    My PC has:

3 Partitions in ths hard disk
    - 1: Windows XP SP2 Installed
    - 2: Downloads & other files
    - 3: Linux Ubuntu [very small partition]
BitDefender 2009 Total Security + latest definitions.
Use Outlook Express as my mail client

    WHAT HAPPENS:
Boots well up to Dual-Boot Selection (since i have 2 OS's)
If I choose WinXP it takes like 15mins to load to the Welcome Screen, loads slowly and as soon as it reaches Desktop it remains constantly slow to respond. (Like it's working on pulses)
BitDefender gives me errors at startup like in the following thread
    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=12858
.. like it's being hindered from starting up.

If I choose Linux Ubuntu it takes ages to load too and hangs too!

Ethernet cable used for Internet was disconnected on purpose all the time. System Restore didn't work (expected this)
I’m asking whether you know where it attacks or some solutions which might be helpful. I can’t scan my pc since it’s extremely slow. (scans 30 files in 10 mins!)
I scanned my HD via USB through another computer with McCafee Virus Scan Enterprise v8.0i.
All it found were a couple of keygens in my Downloads folder.
I'm clueless now. More to add, my pc was running smoothly like never before, just before this incident!

    Thanks a lot! much appreciated
