BIG IPHONE PROBLEM

    can some one please help me, i bought a iphone off the streets but unfortunately when i tried to insert my sim card it states THE SIM CARD INSERTED IN THIS IPHONE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SUPPORTED IT IT ALSO GOES ON TO STATE,ONLY COMPATIBLE SIM CARD FROM A SUPPORTED CARRIER MAY BE USED TO ACTIVATE THIS IPHONE, PLEASE INSERT THE SIM CARD THAT CAME WITH THIS IPHONE, I have tried using Orange, 3, Tmobile and O2 without sucess so im wondering should i even bother buying a vodafone sim. I have also tried using Ziphone to solve the problem but without any luck,
    either way can some one please help me find a way round this problem.

    You must jailbreak the phone before using a different carrier sim card .
