explain things a bit more. You formatted the 40 gig. OK. But have you installed a new OS yet ? Can you see the HDD at all ? Is the 120GB jumpered as slave or cable select ?

if 120gig is slave & the 40gig was your master ot c: drive than when you formatted your c:drive you have no operating system on it. what format are the 2 drives in because if 120gig is ntfs & the 40gig is fat32 & using a win9x bootdisk, the 120gig will show up as a non-dos drive but you have not lost your info, just have to put your windows back onto the 40gig
