hi there, i have just used dvd2avi to try and make a vcd of a film (avi) i downloaded. i have all my files now, like the bin and cue files. when i open nero and select my cue file, for some reason i have a 1.2 gigabyte file!, for some reason it has converted the same video twice because i know that it should be about 600mb for my film (considering this is only part one of two)i waited all day for the conversion process and once again i'm dissapointed. please help

hi i was using tmpgenc. when i check the info on the cue file it says track 1 '623 meg' and track 2 '623 meg', i know from experience that track 2 is the file that is usually played when creating a vcd, so i don't understand why it has made a duplicate on track 1. i'm gonna have to repeat the process all over again. from now on i think i'm just gonna download mpg files, i mean they may be not as good quality but i can always be sure that they will encode to vcd well and the sound and video will be perfectly insync.

You would have to mount the bin/cue image onto a virtual cd drive with Alcohol 120% or something. Then use VCDEasy, click tools - mpeg tools and use CDXA2MPEG and extract the dat file from the virtual drive as a true mpeg file on your computer. Then you would have to fix the headers, this is done easy enough with TMPGEnc.
