Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help a guy that is just starting out with this svcd thing but having a tough time putting it all together. What would be the steps that I would need to take if I want to convert a .Bin file into a playable svcd that I can obviously play on my standalone Dvd player. I have checked with vcdhelp.com and it says that my dvd player is able to play svcd. I tried the following: 1) extracting the movie file from the bin file using Isobuster then converting it to mpeg2 format with Tmpgenc and finally when I go burn it with Nero it burns fine but the problem is that when I play it on my standalone dvd player it doesn't play smooth, the video is choppy or like it is going very slow(frame by frame sort of). Any help is greatly appreciated as I have already wasted about 5 cdr's. THanks tbull
Dont know if it will help with the choppiness, but have you tried burning the bin file directly to cd, using nero, file menu, burn image? Hope this helps
I just did that and now my dvd player doesn't even recognize the disc as being svcd. Any other suggestions? tbull
I'm really fishing here becuase ive not had this problem, although im sure others hav on here, but have you tried burning at a slower speed than you are at the moment? it may help, if not have a dig around the forums, ive had a quick look but nothing that sounds like yours, but im sure that if a problem exists then its on here and someone knows the answer
only other thing i can think of is a different program, nero works for me but not everyone, maybe try goldenhawk cdrwin, i use to use that succesfully to.
hmmm, was the bin file a downloaded file? seems quite possible that it is NTSC and your dvd player needs PAL or vice versa!
hey Dela, yea the bin file was a downloaded file. One thing I noticed was that when I was encoding it it said that it was a PAL format. Do you think I should have burned it with Nero but with a NTSC format because I tried it in the PAL format and still didnt work.
