    Hi,all
especially all the tecchies out there, have you ever opened up the bin file of a "box" with a hex editor? and then compared another bin file in another screen to see the difference?
    looks really interesting.

look on the bright side, i have been a long time looking and not contributing to web sites because all my advice is all ready posted and only clutters up the whole forum, but at least i am prepared to think "outside the box" to see if i can bounce ideas

yes and you forgot one big thing, The source code for the unit, as without that you got nothing.

knew i was new at this, was thinking of cloning a bin file using two different sets of hexes and changing model numbers etc,
am i wasting my time? of is it worth persevering with?
thought the source code would be in the file

Are you joking, the source file would be in the bin file, not likely as that is very private and would never happen.

You might be able to get the N2 keys out of a firmware image for SV, ITgate or Kryptview. They are all likely encrypted however so good luck with that.

There is always the chance Sunrise will get bored and lash through all open source boxes...

They are well encrypted as you have said. Probably easier to dump an A05 card than try and get the keysets from any of these :)
