Breck I went to the 6000 web page and I do not know where to go from there. Help.

 

These are download links, not pages.

Click on it and save it on your desktop.
It's a zip file so you'll have to unzip it first.
Then you need to upload the factory 100 bin
Then upload the latest bin (147)
Then hook up to your TV - Do a factory reset and scan for channels on your specific satellite that you used in the past.
When done exit and save everything.
Wait for the "Scrambled" message to go away - give it about 10 mins - sometimes it can be slow.

 

oh but then i click 5000 the updates are from yesterday

 

I don't know what timezone you are in, but if you look at the file name or the link, you can see the released update date is 20070818.

That's the present date where I am. It was posted at 8:07AM this morning where I found it.

hi i have a coolsat 5000 and was wondering how do i put the bin in there do i need to hook it up to my computer?

 

That's weird Breck68..I tried downloading bin 147, but I get a windows error saying the file could not be open...hmmm

any other websites where they could be download from?

You need the Pro loader, factory 100 bin and the later bin.

latest (147): above link.

You connect your box to your pc with the RS-232 cable that came with your box.
You open your loader and select the factory 100 bin.
Upload the factory bin.
When done select (147) bin and upload it.
When done, connect to your tv and do a factory reset.
Now scan for channels and use the same stellite you used in the past.
When done exit and save everything.

You will now see "Scrambled" on your screen. Just sit back and wait.
It may take up to 10 mins - be patient, the picture will come.

This is a quick and general set of instructions, hope it helps.

Let us know if you get stuck somewhere.

 

sorry, nm what I said before..one has to save bin147, not just open it in order to put it into the loader..

..however, at the end of installing bin147, it says "writing failed" and it kept the old bin143..so I'm guessing the new bin147 from those links doesn't work?

any ideas?

 

You have to load the Factory 100 bin first.
Then do the 147 bin.

Apparently putting 147 over anything but the 100 will not work.

Breck, I tried to save the download link but for some reason my internet explorer can not save it, or open it. Also what is the factory 100 bin? Where can I get it? Hey breck if you have the new coolsat 6000 bin can you email it to me so I can save it on desk top and from there hook up my coolsat 6000 and download the new bin to it. My email address is lidiomerino@yahoo.com I would really appreciate it.

You need Pro Loader to load bins to your receiver.

Download the 3 files to your desktop:

Pro Loader
Factory 100 Bin
and Latest version of bin

Connect your receiver to your pc with the 9-pin wire that came with your box:


Open the loader - click on auto detect and it will tell you if your pc and box are communicating. Should show version installed on your box.
Click on browse - go to desktop and select the Factory 100 bin.
Click Connect and Start - this will load bin file
Click finshed when done.

Now do the same for the newest bin:

Click on browse - go to desktop and select the lastest bin - 147 right now.
Click connect and start - this will load the bin file
Click finished when done.

Now hook your receiver to your TV:

Do a factory reset.
Select your language
Select autoscan for channels.
Choose the same satellite as you used before and start the scan.
When finished, exit and save everything.

Now sit back and wait for the picture to come on.
BE PATIENT - it may take up to 10 minutes.

breck i'm having problems installing the new bin for coolsat 4000. I uploaded the factory bin 120. Then i tried installing 147, but when it gets to 100% nothing happens. the cancel button is still there and my receiver was turning off by itself. am i doing something wrong

 

I am not familiar with 4000.
I don't know the procedure with it.
