This is probably already been asked and answered, but, can't find any help on this subject.

I've recently bought a new Xbox.
It came modded from the dealer, with a 300 Gb HD, Xecuter 3 chip, the IR mod port, the LCD mod screen, and the router switch (4 different memory banks for BIOS'es), for the Xecuter 3 chip.

Here's my question... how do I update/flash the last to BIOS banks?
Banks 1 & 2 came pre-flashed, with 2 identical BIOS'es, and they both boot into Avalaunch.

One of my friends then "helped me" by installing the UnleashX ontop of the Avalaunch dashboard on C:, so now I've got those two mixed up in the same dir, and I don't know what belongs to what, but anyway, not the point :)

I've also "thrown" an EvolutionX into the Apps folder on F: so I can run that one as an app, and finally I've got the XBMC as an app.

So, is it also possible to have the last two BIOS banks boot to a different dashboard, and how do I do it?

    So, to summon up:

    Q. 1: How do I flash my BIOS banks on this machine
    and
    Q. 2: Is it possible to have these multiple BIOS'es boot to different
dashboards, depending on which BIOS bank I choose, before
    turning on the Xbox?

While I can't help you; I can say that there is a lesson to be learned here:

When having work like this done; find one person to start it, and one person to finish it. And make sure that they are the same person, otherwise things get messy.

Don't worry, someone will help you shortly, around here it only takes a day or two before someone really helps you out, your particular question just isn't in my particular scope.

You are so right, but, the dealer wouldn't go any further than as to deliver the pre-modded xbox, with 2 flashed BIOS'es, Avalaunch, XBMC, some apps, and a very confusing instruction on how to use X3 Config for use with my DVD kit, and the IR mod, which he turned off in part, as to that it works by pressing either display or select for booting with/without the chip enabled, but doesn't turn off, since there's a compatibility problem with the bios and the turn off feature, and no explanation on how to install dashboards, nor how to flash bios to the remaining two banks, as well as how to customize the dashboards in the boot sequence.

However, I think I've learned by digging the net, that in order to boot to different dashboards, I need to flash different versions of bios'es, is that true?
And if I flash for instance X2 bios to bank 3 and 4, will this not affect the X3 bios in bank 1 and 2?

Would still need some help with the first questions in my first post, as well...

first, X3 bios has the Config Live. So you can set the path to any dashboard that you want to load.

if you want to use x2 bios, you have to edit the path by using specific softwares.

How big is bank 3 and 4? 1MB?

I actually don't know. The store didn't say.
    How do I find out?

Actually, this is how my xbox looks like, exactly.

Only my switch is to the left on the console, since it has the Xecuter 3 w. LCD display front.
    Will that make it easier?

Found this infomercial about the Xecuter 3 chip, I've got:

    • 2 MB flash memory.
    • New 5th generation software controlled chip.
    • The chippen has it's own menu system for setting up the bioscode, updating, config. of the chipen, harddisk tools and eeprom tools + backup.
    • X3 Config LIVE (change biosindstillinger)
    • Supports LCD-screen for info. in MediaPlayer, Avalaunch..
    • Change the various chip funktions and codes via software menu.
    • Chip on/off via Xbox power / eject button!
    • Can be updated via cd / hdd / network.

With Config Live it's easy to:

    - Quick Reboot feature on the gamepad (Black + back)
    - IGR Live Control (Enable or Disable)
    - Quick Launch Feature (select different features to be executed with gamepad combos)
    - Customize startup animation colors on-the-fly (With Active Color Picker System)

    - Setup custom dashboard selection (5 - Different Dashboards - You choose)
    - Set drive to boot dash from (C E or F)
    - Set LBA48 settings
    - Auto Fix of corrupt date / time

    But wait, there's more:

Load Bios from HDD C and Flash
    - Load Bios from DVD-ROM and Flash
    - Load Bios from HDD E and Flash
    - Select Bank(s) for Flashing
    - Format HDD
    - Lock HDD
    - Unlock HDD
    - Display HDD Password
    - Set / Display Game Region

    - USB Programming Controller
(Perfect if your flash is damaged and for easy Windows config of app)
    - Flash Protection Control
    - Mod Disable - Quick Press of Power or Eject (External LED will indicate RED)
    - Hold Power+Eject >1 second to boot from 256k Backup Rom
    (External LED will indicate YELLOW)
    - Hold Power >1 second to boot from 2Mb Flash Rom
    (External LED will indicate GREEN)

    - External controller for USB & Mod Control
    - Supplied with all adapters & wires

And the chip supports up to 2000 Gb HDD.

Does that help regarding the size of the remaining two banks?

ok you have 2MB flash. ON bank 1-2 is 1MB. so bank 3-4 is another 1MB.

Then you need to download the X3 bios (1MB) and flash it to bank 3-4.

Here are the options that you can set dashboard to boot up as turn on:

    - Set default dashboard
    - Setup custom dashboard selection (5 - Different Dashboards - You choose)
    - Set drive to boot dash from (C E or F)

Yeah, you dont have to have multiple BIOSes to boot different dashboards. Like TheReturn said, you can just take your X3 BIOS and choose your dashboard bootup options. The only BIOS you need for the X3 chip is the X3 BIOS. It is a good idea to flash a backup X3 BIOS to your other empty banks.

So, when it's possible for me to boot both with the button for bank 1 as well as the button for bank 2 activated, I already have a backup of the X3 BIOS on my Xbox!?!

    True or false?

Well, technically speaking, and this depends on the people who installed your 'boxes mod chip, it is *very possible* to simply back up the bios onto another bank. It depends on how THEY set it up. But it's definitely worth a try in your case. They might have also set one of or both of the others to default M$, which, through softmodding, you could use towards getting another copy of the X3 bios flashed onto the chip again.

Those are just a few ideas to play around with, hopefully they'll help.
