bios dead

    downgaded my mother board bios as had a problem it started getting blue screen all time after so formated my hard disk then it won't install windows quick blue screen managed o get xp on but want to upgrade to new bios as my procesor is detected at wrong speed as well on he older 1 how do i flash it from bios as dot want to do it from inside windows

    if you downgraded your bios than use the same method to upgrade it!!

    the last time i did it in windows but managed to do it in dos.

    But still says my cpu is 1.50ghz and not the 3ghz wat usely says any way to fix this

    did you go into your bios to configure speed back upto proper speed??

    normly does it automaticly where do i go in bios and what do i change thanks

    does not always do it automatically especially if using jumpers on the motherboard. in the bios, see if there is a section for cpu setup. check your motherboard manual.

    there no jumpers on board just the cmos reset in the manual i can't find ought either its abit sg72 p4 3.0ghz if that helps you for any ideas

    the cpu clock ratio part not there it got the clock control by option but noth the top 2 which according to manuel is cpu clock ratio i tryed the new bios and a old 1

    solved it there a jumper i changed to enable me to flash the bios i did to put it back to write protect the option still not there but the right speed is.
