Sup guys, I just wanted to know how you would update the bios. I was thinking that you ftp to your xbox go to the c:/ drive into the bios folder and paste the new bios over the old bios. Could that work? Also what does the bios updater do in evox? Does it search for the bios file of a cd? i have alladin modchip with evox m7 and 80 GB hdd. i want to update to m8 because m7 doen't support IGR function (in game rest).
Please note I have no practial exprerance with your Modchip. But I shall do what I can... First off the Bios Updater in Evox should work and I think you have the correct idea an that you'd want to place an Image File (i.e. Firmware), into the C:\BIOS Folder. Then use EVOX to Flash your Chip. I never flashed a Chip this way, but I think this is how it's soposed to work. If you can not get that to work though you'll need to create a 'BIOS CD'. More like a 'BIOS CD\RW' in fact! As about 90% of all XBOXs'™ will not be able to read a CD-R. In order to flash your Chip. If you need help you can try here: http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/cd.htm Yes it's the Xecuter Website I know, but the info there is still just as vaild to you. Just take note that you should have a good understanding of which XBOX™ (v1.0~v1.6a/b), you own. As it is easyly posible to fuxx0r up an XBOX™ with an incorrect Firmware! (i.e. No Video)...
Then you can use most of the BIOS Images that ARE NOT LABELED AS 16 or 1.6 You can safly use the EVOX M8 BIOS Image. Allthough If I might suggest you try the Xecuter2 4980 Image instead. As this also supports IGR and can be modifide. (i.e. No Flubber Ani, Color Change Mod. Edit Boot calls placeing EvoX over Avalauch if you wish etc...) Although you will need to use XBTool to make such changes....
