    I have the following specs:

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition
    Sound Card: Sound FX 2
    RAM: 4.0 GB
    Video Card: EAH3870 3870 512MB
    CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600 3.2 GHZ

I was wondering if it is safe to upgrade my motherboard bios. Will it damage my motherboard?

If there is nothing wrong, I would suggest you not update. But if you need to, just follow the instructions either in your mobo manual or asus website.

Yes, it is safe. I have almost the same rig as you, and updated my BIOS to the latest.

Use the ASUS update program to do it, that's probably the easiest way. After you update the BIOS, your settings will be turned back to defaults, so you will have to go back and change them.
