I changed my settings in imgburn so that my Lite-on burner booktypes dvd+r to DVD-ROM. After I burn the disc imgburn still says the DVD in my burner is a DVD+R. Is that supposed to happen? Or is my burner not booktyping it even though the settings are set to do so?

What is the model # of your Lite-on? Lite-ons have their own booktype utility. The newer models I believe will automatically booktype + media, but AFAIK you have to change it first with the utility and then all subsequent burns will be booktyped. I do not own a newer model so can not verify that information. Mine, I have to change EVERY time, after a reboot, before I burn.

As far as Imgburn, according to this thread, quote from the author UKLightning:

ImgBurn doesn't remember ANY booktype settings. Never has, never will.

It reads them from the drive when you bring up the 'booktype' dialog box, that is all.

Hmmm.....on page3 of the thread he is quoted as saying:

ImgBurn sets the booktype permanently too (if the drive supports it). It's either that way by default (depending on manufacturer) or there's a specific option to set it permanently - and it will be named as such.

There are options for most things if people manage to find them.

Locoeng is a member here as well, maybe he can set you straight?
