i wanna convert to dvd and im using winavi to convert to dvd> im just wondering is it true the higher the bitrate the better the picture quality?
Basically true. The higher the bitrate, the closer the encoder can get to the original. A few points though. The encoder will eventually reach a point of saturation where it can't throw any more bits at the video. DVD has a max bitrate limit. You may reach a point of transparency before saturation or even the max DVD bitrate. In such a case increasing the bitrate would not result in a noticable increase in quality.
