i modded my pstwo (V12 PAL) with the matrix infinity chip + the slimline fix V3 (from comsoft). The pstwo loads normally, butt when I put in a game the screen turns black. Also when i press START during startup (to deactevate the chip) i get a black screen. Hope someone knows what the problem is, and how i can solve it.
u have a poor connection from the chip 2 the MB this is (diss-affectionatly) called BSOD (black screen of death) there is also the RSOD (work it out). Probably 1 of the bios connections. U need 2 check them VERY VERY well for both visual connectivity & continuity (multimeter) also interconectivity between 2 seperate pads on the MB (common problem)[there should b NO interconectivity between any 2 ajacent pads] Unless your mod tells u 2 do this. I havent ever come across this.
with what you describe, you've either crossed up a few wires or the chip is faulty. your reporting only getting a black screen when the chip is trying to latch the BIOS for authentication so it's not a bad connection it's the chip giving the wrong information to the BIOS and when deactivating the chip your driving the BIOS low also giving a black screen. kc
do you have the green dot MI, if so make sure it has 1.68 firmware or higher, when they first released the greendot the firmware 1.62 had the black screen issue with V12/13 consoles,just upgrade firmware to 1.82 and see if that helps
