I was able to rip all main movie files (2-1 thru 2-5) with SmartRipper 2.41.
After that I was unable to use dvd shrink or nero to reauthor or remake/recode to making a dvd.
The ripped files are valid VOB so I decided to use "Sothink Movie DVD Maker" which is also freeware and is available at www.brothersoft.com under dvd tools.
The copy I made using that worked, but only on my Philips dvp-642 dvd/divx player.
The audio was so low that I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it really good.
It seems that 2-1 thru 2-4 are being treated as one part and 2-5 as a separate part but joined together. The video was not compressed at all since dvd shrink wouldnt handle it and Nero rejected it saying it would take a dvd-9 disc to fit it on. Aparently nero wont compress.
Hopefully this will help anybody that is really savvy.

So then AnyDVD should work with DVD Shrink too?

BTW, Magic DVD Ripper isn't a free program.

    @aladdin50,

I suggest you edit your post otherwise your software will not work in the future!!

To make the movie work, try running the rip through FixVTS. DVD Shrink should then have no problem opening it. If it doesn't work, re-rip the movie or restore the backup and then run it through IFOEdit (mock strip) and then FixVTS.

    Edit:

Is this Blade 4??? Never heard of it... Is it any good?

Is this the same thing that was released a couple years back as a freeware DVD copy protection tool?

If anyone is interested or has any more ideas the new smallville season 6 does the same as blade and can not be backed up. any help would be great as we know kids are hard on dvds.

that's why i like keeping just one thread per alleged 'troublesome movie'; trouble is, if this is indeed actually a troublesome movie, our forums are going to be consumed by Blade House threads. Argh....

fengtao has been notified. Maybe the copies you guy are using are advance dvd's to renters and sellers and I've found that advance copies tend to be a little on the shakey side. Wait until tuesday before you rest your feet in your mouths. This copy is nothing but a cheap attempt to get in on the original triology. cheap production equipment and discs produce cheap product. I would like to hear apologies on tuesday and admit to your stupidity

It is not Blade 4. Blade - House of Chthon was actually a TV series spawned from the Blade trilogy. It premiered on Spike TV in June of 2006. This is pretty much just an uncensored version of the first two pilot episodes. I have not seen it yet, so I'm not sure if it's any good.

whats going to change tuesday? the movie was released last tuesday, if you rent/buy it then it will be the SAME DISC, I don't get what your saying (keep in mind i am new to this so im sorry if im wrong here)

P.S. its not an attempt to get in on the triology, it was a series on spike TV (for 1 season only)
