i have just recently brought a dvd burner after my other 1 gave up the ghost. I can put a dvd rw disk in with no problem at all and burn dvd films but as soon as i put in a dvd-r or a dvd +r blank disk it says the disk is full.(even though they are straight out of a wrapper) I have all the latest drivers for the burner and am also using nero 6 reloaded i have even reformatted the pc thinking it had somthing to do with service pack 2 the burner is a daul burner that is compatable with + and - disks the burner i have is a EMPREX - 1016IM 16X DUAL FORMAT DOUBLE LAYER INTERNAL DVD/RW hope som1 can help me with this problem thanks kev
what media are you using? have you updated formware for the drive? updated nero to the latest version?
im using windows xp and have the right firmware updates and use windows media player / power dvd i also have all the relivent updates for nero 6 reloaded
ouch~ doesn't seem so good in the media dept~ i have a feeling it's because you need to get better media~ Philips DVD-R 4.7GB CMC MAG. AE1 8x Philips DVD+R 4.7GB CMC MAG.E01 8x if you got EITHER one of those, THAT is your problem there...CMC MAGs are the WORST manufacturer codes out there~ check my sig, try better media, your situation will improve~ TY or Verbs is what i would personally recommend to you~
sometimes companies like to promote their own products. Try looking for another source of media normally one you used before and had good sucess with, also when you get it working don't overload your dvd beyond its limit
iv had no problem with the disks until i put in the new dvd burner with nero 6 reloaded iv also tried imation disks and memorex and also tdk disks all of which are saying full only disks im not having probs with are dvd rw on all makes
You might want to go to the Nero Site and download the latest update. They have free updates periodically. They latest is dated May 27th if I remember correctly. This could help you and possibly changing to better media. Your new burner may not work well with the cheaper stuff. It's worth it in the end to use a better quality media.
@myst? - - imation are atrocious as they use mainly CMC, Memorex, well what can i say apart from CMC; TDK use varying manufacturer's so it's hit and miss as to which ones you'd end up with; I'll recommend Verbs as per kivory666. I've only just started using TY yesterday but have faith in them as does Mister TY above (who i shan't name but has 3 numbers that look like 6 at end of his name lol)
Still looks like problem due to poor quality media. Every media you've tried buys from CMC MAG. Try some good quality, proven media, Verbatum (azo dye), genuine Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Fuji, Sony. Here's some codes for media you've tried. Philips DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG F01) Philips DVD+R 8x (CMC MAG E01) Philips DVD-R 8x (CMC MAG AE1) Imation DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG.F01) Memorex DVD+R 16X (CMCMAG M01) Memorex DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG.F01 Memorex DVD+R 8X (CMC MAG E01) Memorex DVD-R 4x (CMC MAG. AF1) Memorex DVD-R 8X (CMC MAG AE1) TDK DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG.F01) TDK DVD+R 8x (CMC MAG.E01)
have just set aside a TY for a colleague to use. Had already 'taught & learn'd him to convert to Verb after watching him being seduced by cheap crap and having no end of problems with his said crap. He would only convert to TY though if the price was same as Verb, which it is at the moment
Creaky..I have watched with interest as you have knelt at the altar of verbs in silent homage. So entranced was I that I have ordered Verbs(Datalife 8X plus full face printables)expecting delivery 13th.June.Now I read that you have changed ship in midstream and let Kivory entice you into the TY fold.I am paying in your shekals 23 quid for a 50 spindle Creak,I`m located in Tasmania and until now have used TY`s from the USA.Now I am rambling as per usual, just thought I would let you know that you guys comments are taken on board even from this far away. P.s How`s the wheelbarrow?
I don't think you can go wrong with either verbatum (azo dye) or genuine TY's. Personally my scans are a little better on the verbatums but both perform and play with no problems. Keep in mind I only use +r media booktyped dvd-rom. Mort
loyal followers~ WOW~ creaky is like Verbatim GOD~ BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP HIM~! hehe, TY and Verb are practically EQUAL in my eyes, i only prefer my TYs by an ever so SLIGHT margin because i have more experience with them~ ok so a thousand more burns might not equate to "slight" to anyone, but, yea~... i would recommend the Verbs to ANYONE if they can't get their hands on genuine TYs...i have 200 Verbs waiting for me in my closet..dvd+R format naturally, MCC003 are wonderful~
I know it`s sad but we lesser mortals all need our heroes..lol..but creakies chantings to the Verbs goddess was enough to have me in his hypnotic spell. My question is therefore, will he sleep peacefully in his rocking houseboat knowing that goddess verb has him marked as a deserter? Having once led hundreds of newbies to her fold,he has now cast adrift.
from what i know about my buddy creaky, i believe he is STILL VERY MUCH VERBATIM KING~ he has not deserted...i failed to bring him COMPLETELY to the TY side~ my force was not strong enough~
I would probably be on the TY bandwagon if rima would have sent me full hub printable TY dvd+r's instead of just printables since TY dvd+r hub printables are a little less expensive than verbatum dvd+r hub printables at least here in the states. Although like I said earlier my verb scans are just a tad better than my TY scans.
