blank media

    is there any blank dvd media that has a silver shiny bottom like store bought dvd's? i use dvd-r's. thx

    I think those store bought dvds you are asking about are the originals. These are pressed discs. Not burned discs. The dvd-r/ dvd+r/and DL discs should have a purple dye. The dvd-rw and dvd+rw will have a gray dye.

    yes, i was referring to the dvd originals. so are dvd+-rw the same colored bottm as original "pressed" dvd's? and if so will these -+rw universally playable as most dvd-r are for play in home dvd players. i use dvd-r because i was told these are the most reognized by the most home dvd players. i want to make the best quality copies that will play in the most possible dvd players. i really appreciate the help as i am very new to copying, but very dedicated.
