My xbox started having this issue and it has progressively gotten worse. The system will reset after a short amount of game play. Then it will not read discs for an hour or more. The middle green light blinks, but that is only after I try to eject the disc. The drive stops responding. No error messages or anything. I am wondering what steps to take to try to fix it.

I believe this is a common problem with Samsung drives. I know there has been a thread started for this same problem but don't have any quick links to it. Use the search bar here and see what you can find. I'm trying to recall the answer, but I think the drive is going bad and it will need to be replaced.

Thanks. I found the link. Also, if i go through the steps of replacing the drive, will I still be able to play on xbox live if I am using original copies of Halo 3 and FIFA '09?
