I just loaded a blu ray disc (verbatim) that I made myself into my drive. The drive tried to recognize it for about 20 seconds. Then all the sudden the drive was gone from the "my computer". I tried to eject but the drive wouldn't do anything. I restarted my computer and still nothing. I had to use a paper clip to get the disc out and now the drive seems completly dead. any ideas of what happened?

It is a tower. I couldn't find the drive anywhere. I would look in the start up page that has boot order and that kind of stuff but it was gone from there as well. I'm not sure if that is what you mean by check the bios. I did finally get it working by unplugging power to the drive and restarting. Once it booted back up I shut down, plugged the power back into the drive and booted up. The drive finally opened and closed and was recognized again. Not sure what happened but I'm glad its working again. Thanks for you help though.
