I have a couple of MKV HD (720P) movies that i wanted to put on a standard DVD to view on my ps3 or any of blueRay player. I followed the guide here and used TSMuxer to convert the MKV movies into a BlueRay structure. i then used ImgBurn to burn the BDMV & Certificate (i used all the right settings on imgburn just like the guide said). The problem is that when i play it on my PS3 is does not detect it as a BlueRay disc but as a "Data Disc" i can still play the movie but i have to open the BDVM folder and the Stream folder to get to the movie. I just want to know if this is normal for the ps3 to show it as a Data Disc, also will the disc work in a standalone blue ray player or just the ps3?
Den when making a disc for use with the PS3 use the AVCHD disc option in TSMuxer. Your console will then recognize it as a AVCHD video disc, allowing it to play normally. The BluRay structure is for standalone players. (Some where in these forums is an explanation of the nuance of the two and I believe it had to do with compatibilty issues for standalone players. Which is why TSMuxer now has the option for both.)
I am kind of new to creating BD disks on DVD9 and so I may not be very clear. I have created a few BD files from mkv using tsMuxeR. One worked prefectly because it was 1280 x 720. The problem is two others that were non standard sizes. When I play them on a PS3 the picture is at the top of the screen, with one large black bar along the bottom, not squashed just not in the middle. I have been combing the boards for a couple days without any luck. Is there an easy way to center the picture for non standard sizes, without totally re-encoding the whole file? I like tsMuxeR as it is easy and fast, just not very clear as to how to fix this. THanks
