blue screen error (machine check error)

    hey guys... need help here..
    specs:
    gigabyte k8vt800 md
    amd64 3200+ socket 754
    1024mb ram
    geforce 5900ultra
    benq dvd 1620pro
    40gb serial hd
    80 gb sata drive and 250gb sata drive
    windows xp pro

    recently i tried to install a new psu, antec truepwr 2.0 430watts.. however, after installation, my comp couldnt enter windows.. i reached the windows loading screen.. thn the screen just hanged... after that.. i reached a blue sceen saying got some error, therefore windows was shut down.. thn got some machine check error.. ask mi to check if installed all devices properly.... i shut down, thn checked that all the qeuipment was installed properly... still cannt.... however i could still enter into safe mode...
    after that, i fixed back my old power supply... the one that came with the casing... everithing was ok.. i could enter windows and all.. bt suddenly after a few hours.. the comp emitted a loud beep sound, then it shutdown.. after tt, on bootup got the bluescreen error again.. however, still can enter into safe mode.. ani one knows wats goin on? apreciate the help there..

    it sounds like a faulty driver or something that is loading up with windows is causing a serious error. To make the process easy i would reinstall windows but you can do this and keep all of your programs and files etc..

    There is a perfect guide the only thing you will loose is updates and hotfixes and wallpaper it overwrites the windows files and doesnt loose you your programs, drivers will also need to reinstalled but this will be the quickest solution to this problem i would say. I would still reccomend making a backup of critical data just incase.

    If you could give me the error code of the blue screen it would help it may for example be IRQ_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL thats one i remember.

    oh..ok... thanks alot... hmm.. somehow it seems that my comp 'repaired' itself.. hahaz... ya... yest i was able to turn on the comp again... bt i tink i'll juz backup info.. just in case it decides to die by itself again... thanks for the help aniwae...
