I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. Yesterday, I had a stupid moment when I clicked on a link from a YouTube video that brought me to this website: hxxp://safetransferonline.com/user92612/xforce (WARNING: THIS WILL GIVE YOU A VIRUS IF YOU CLICK DOWNLOAD AND OPEN THE FILE). When I opened the file, it automatically restarted my computer and I got this blue screen of death message: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x804dc11d) I restarted and pressed F8. When I tried Safe Mode, I got the exact same message! (I almost had a heart attack at this point). Fortunately, Debugging Mode worked and the BSOD never showed up. I logged into my account and everything was perfectly fine (no missing icons or deleted files or anything). So I don't know how to get rid of this BSOD message without having to go into Debugging Mode every time. I don't know what to do anymore, please help! I also found another person who has the EXACT same problem that I do: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/BSoD-IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL-t255202.html Thanks so much to anyone who can help me!
If you know the link is potentially dangerous, why u even post it? Anyways left it in case it could help members to identify which virus etc. it might be, but edited as non-clickable so nobody accidentally opens it.
you could try & search for others who know where the installed files are, there's system restore or save your data & reformat, perhaps a virus scan might pickup the files macrium reflect make a free imaging program or invest in ghost or acronis
