Well this guy has helped me beofore so when he told me that he had this i told him i'd help him, we've tryed a few things, running a diagnostic to check the RAM,thouroghly clean the system from all malware (nothing in there anyway) and i was going to check the hd for him because i assume somthings ucompatibe.. whats hapening is he one day installed some new graphis drivers, it was all going well, he said he was pleased with the results anyway after 3 days he started getting the dreaded bsods!!, it was sooo unstable we tryed alot of things but running the machine with thoose drivers made the pc unusable, we went back to default drivers now anyway, whats wrong?? does anybody know?? sounded like to me that his MotherBoard or Hd is umcompatible with thoose drivers.. heres the spec ( i have the full spec but its HUGE!!) --------[ EVEREST Home Edition (c) 2003-2005 Lavalys, Inc. ]------------------------------------------------------------ Version EVEREST v2.20.405 Homepage http://www.lavalys.com/ Report Type Report Wizard Computer SAVAGE Generator Ryan Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 (WinXP Retail) Date 2006-02-18 Time 16:57 --------[ Summary ]----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Computer: Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer Name SAVAGE User Name Ryan Motherboard: CPU Type AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+ Motherboard Name Abit AN8 / Fatal1ty AN8 Series Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA nForce4, AMD Hammer System Memory 1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type Award (02/17/05) Display: Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU (256 MB) 3D Accelerator nVIDIA GeForce 6800 PCI-E Series Monitor ViewSonic E70f+-3 [17" CRT] (P17042300987) Multimedia: Audio Adapter nVIDIA MCP04 - Audio Codec Interface Storage: IDE Controller Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller IDE Controller Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller IDE Controller Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller Floppy Drive Floppy disk drive Disk Drive Maxtor 6B200P0 (200 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133) Disk Drive HP USB Device Optical Drive LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S (DVD+R9:4x, DVD+RW:16x/8x, DVD-RW:16x/6x, DVD-ROM:16x, CD:48x/24x/48x DVD+RW/DVD-RW) SMART Hard Disks Status OK Partitions: C: (NTFS) 194466 MB (132895 MB free) Input: Keyboard HID Keyboard Device Mouse HID-compliant mouse Mouse PS/2 Compatible Mouse Game Controller Microsoft PC-joystick driver Network: Network Adapter NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (192.168.1.101) Peripherals: Printer Auto HP DeskJet 720C on KIRKMAIN Printer hp psc 1300 series USB1 Controller nVIDIA MCP04 - OHCI USB Controller USB2 Controller nVIDIA MCP04 - EHCI USB 2.0 Controller USB Device hp psc 1300 series (DOT4USB) USB Device hp psc 1300 series USB Device USB Composite Device USB Device USB Composite Device USB Device USB Human Interface Device USB Device USB Human Interface Device USB Device USB Human Interface Device USB Device USB Mass Storage Device USB Device USB Printing Support theres a tonne more if you need it.. hope that some one as the solution, would make the guys life alot easier, thanks in advance people
I mananged to roll back changes to the comp, the default drivers are on now but i want to know why he cant use the updated drivers.
they must have some kind of conflict either with your operating system build or with some other piece of hardware in the system. sometimes the updated drivers arent always the best thing to get. wait till the next driver comes out and see if you have any more luck with that, also email the card manufacturer and tell them about the problem you had with this driver, it may help improve the next version so it wont happen again
I agree with SypherTek 100% on this one. The new drivers might be fine in one persons system and not in another simply because of other software applications that may be in conflict. (What was installed after those 3 days that it worked fine?) A couple of years ago I had a similar issue with a graphic driver update and just went back to the previous version until a second newer driver came out.
yeh ive also had this kind of problem, the graphics card that is now in my 2nd system has got major conflicts with my main system, if i install the correct MSI driver for it, it causes BSODs random crashes etc but it works fine with the generic nvidia driver (which is no good as the msi driver lets me overclock it to 600MHz)
So like i said somthings interfearing, what you have just said is excactly what i told the man, sounds like we cant do much but wait for the nest drivers. @scubabud, he said he didnt install anything. thanks for the help guys, i'll tell him exactly what you told me, realy appriciate it
rav009 We all say that we didn't do anything... LOL It could be auto updates from MS, etc. that helped to cause it since they just had a few auto updates in the last few days.
lol yeh you did, but you both replied didnt ya He says he thinks its AVG autoscan :S I'll just leave it to him.
