Hi, I've read most of the guides and forums on this website pertaining to blu ray burning and playing...good stuff. I'm interested in burning some .mkv files (1920 x 800) files onto a 25gb bd-re. My original procedure was 1. use tsmuxer to get the bdmv and cert folders 2. use imgburn and burn the bdmv/cert folders The problem is, since the original files are only 800 pixels up and down, the image looked skewed and crappy in my standalone. I understand why the files I have are 800 pixels (because the piraters cut off the 140 pixel top and bottom borders). I read a bunch on the forums about avisynth and megui, programs that would allow me to addborders to my videos so that the video would be in its native 1920 x 1080p (or 16:9 aspect ratio) form. Unfortunately, after I created my scripts and tried to use megui, the recoding process took wayyyyyyy too long. I waited for about 2 days and megui told me i still had about 199 days to wait. Some might blame my slow pc, but I have a core i7 965 extreme, 6 gb of 1800 mhz ram, and an asus p6t deluxe mobo. My next solution was to use nero vision. I added the mkv file and everything looked good on the surface. When I double checked the resolution that it was about to burn as, it said 1440 x 1080p. When I tried to adjust this to 1920 x 1080p, or Full-HD, a message prompt came up and said "Your project currently exceeds some size limts of the destination disc type. Do you want to have the project quality reduced automatically so that your project will fit into the available space?" If I click yes on this message, it simply reverts back to the 1440 x 1080p file format. This is not what I want. So basically, is there a better program out there that will burn my video to 1920 x 1080, a better re-encoding tool that I can use to add borders to my 1920 x 800p file? What are my options?
Your system isn't slow. You undoubtly have a problem some where. Maybe in your script. Do you have a codiec pack installed? If not I suggest k-lite mega pack. Use tsmuxer to cut a 10 minute clip and run a sample on it to check your work. If it don't work post your log and script. I really like megui. It does a great job. I have a duel core, 4gb 800 mhz ram and it takes me about 14 hrs.
