all the game that are going to be on both consoles will not. any one nows is this going make the PS3 games cost more since Bluray will be more expensive to make. look at the xbox it had better graphics but only MS make game with the best graphics.
HAHAHAHA did you just say Microsoft makes the bets graphix. Dear god.. ehh,, anyway, hahaha, Blu-ray can hold 25 gigs, if im correct, and one things that i heard developers talk about, is now there is no limitations to how much they can put on, and their even talking about putting multipe games on them, Now i also beilve this is ahead of its time, but you have to start somewhere, you wont be seeing to much blu-ray discs at first, but def expect to see them in close to 4-5 years
Microsoft was quoted saying they'll look into dvd-hd but start their games out on dvd so don't bet on the best graphics once blu-ray hits. blu-ray IS 25 gigs and there's dual-layer, but I don't know if they'll implement that, maybe someone can enlighten me.
Also remember that most games don't go above 4GB right now, even with sloppy programming techniques. 9GB should be more than enough for most games as long as the Dev's are good with their programming.
i said the xbox has better graphics then PS2,which is true. and never said somthing about MS making the best graphics since they dont make Graphics. the MS games are the only games that use the xbox graphics to full(they dont even do that).
That's simple. A regular Blue Ray system will be, say $450. A PS3 will be $400. Drives more sales of the PS3's for those that want a BR-DVD and also puts more of the BR-DVD's out there for a larger install base. There is a format war coming (Please remember that Sony has had 3 formats shot down when they tried to make them mainstream) and the more players Sony has, the better their chances of winning. They are effectively shoving the BR-DVD onto us in the hope that we will then take the BR-DVD format.
I'd reccomend visiting www.howstuffworks.com and looking at their articles on the PS3, floating performance is 2 terraflops! and xbox 360's official spec is only 1 terraflop (not to sure wat a terraflop is but it sounds huge haha) anyways blu ray discs will cost around the same to make as dvd discs, dvd's are made by glueing two discs together and blu-ray will only hav one and a larger protective layer and once demand for them increases, so wil lthe amount constructed so they will become cheaper like everything else, i cant wait till modded PS3's are sorted, Philips have already released a BLU-RAY RW drive, and sony's blu ray recorders are out in japan, if you want me to find source sites ill post em. I think the next consoles are going to be ridiculously good, ive seen screenshots of the getaway 3 and it looks lifelike. all developers are claiming to have the best anti-copy protection on their new consoles, but they say that everytime... lets not forget the battle against cd-writers.
http://www.opticalstorage.philips.com/about/news/article-14836.html http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/playstation-three.htm http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/xbox-three-sixty.htm http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/blu-ray.htm The blu ray article explains alot about how a disc the same size can hold alot more data, also theres mention in their that Prioneer say they can get 500GB on a single disc using ultraviolet lasers, thats pretty intense! :S
