.bmp to .jpg

    Is there a free program to change .bmp to .jpg
    I have captured some pic's from my home made movies but they are bmp and use them unless they are jpg THANKS

    or... open the .bmp with paint then go file save and change the file type:D

    Thanks, this is so simple i realy feel stupid!!!
    I searched google and all i found was a lot of sites wanting to sell me a program to do what i can already do with paint!!

    Have a look at irfanview its free and has a lot of great editing tools

    I think converting them with Paint severly harms the quality of the photo, does it not? I would use Photoshop
