Recorder: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109> Version: 1.40[/quote] - your burner's firmware is a fair few versions behind, 1.58 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2017 [bold]however make sure you choose the correct one, there are two 1.58's there depending on exactly which variety of Pioneer DVD-109 you have[/bold] - see next paragraph, hopefully sorting out DMA will get rid of that question mark. or the burner might be external. if it is an external burner it may well help choosing the correct firmware as per my previous comment - DMA needs to be ON. reload the nvidia motherboard drivers - if ALL other suggestions don't get you burning, buy better media - see previous comment - i do 24x max for data cd's and 16x max for audio cd's - that's Nero's InCD (packet writing) software, which can interfere. uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools - http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html and install 6.6.0.16 WITHOUT installing InCD. 6.6.0.16 is the last 6.x update so you might want to update to this one
2 questions creaky, 1. what u mean by reloading motherboard drivers? how i do it? 2. Secondly I went to device manager, and "let BIOS select transfer mode" is checked. And its set to ultra dma 4 - ultra 66....should i change it and if so what to? thank u very much
hiya. for DMA on 'normal' motherboards, ie non nvidia, there's a standard way of fixing the (atapi) drivers, however these 'nvata' drivers i think you just reinstall the 'ide' drivers from the motherboard cd. have a look what's on the cd and let me know, they might be called something else.. edit- Your hard drive is a SATA drive, 'fraid all i know about SATA is they're Serial ATA150 and use tiny connectors; whereas my hard drive isn't SATA, it's just ATA100 (mine equates to Ultra DMA Mode 5). Ultra DMA Mode 4 equates to ATA66 but i don't know enough about SATA, without lots of googling, 'fraid my knowledge is only as recent as ATA133, which is just prior to SATA.
