Boot Time

    I had installed an ssd recently and was out of sorts because the boot time hadn't improved (it was never worth writing home about).
    Checked the Boot programs etc but couldn't figure it.
    Finally got around to running Process Monitor to find out who was the party-pooper - upshot was I replaced AntiVir with Avast and shaved 26 seconds off the boot;now 36 seconds.
    Funny old world.

    One can learn something every day :)
    Avast is the lightest, fastest and only free AV with a realtime script scanner.
    Just don't set up a boot time scan.lol
