I was wondering if there was a program which allows me play media files (namely mpeg, avi, mov) without installing the program itself on the drive. I've downloaded Xbox Media Player (because that's all I can find) and burned it onto a CD-RW (made an xISO of the files then used DVD Decrypter to burn) but it doesn't run on my xbox. Is there a bootable media player that I can use without installing and if not, what am I doing wrong with XBMP. Please help.
Im not sure if this will work or not, but before you burn it, try switching all the tags in the config file to run from d drive, but leave all the file locations (music, games, etc.) where you have them on your xbox. I havent looked at the config file in awhile so I couldnt tell you exactly what to change, but it should be pretty obvious when you get in there. Also, you might want to upgrade to Xbox Media Center. Its WAY more up to date, and XBMP isnt supported AFAIK. Daniel
I forgot to mention that i'm a newbie to the whole xbox modding scene, so i have no idea what and where the tags in the config file are. Furthermore, will editing that file make the entire XBMP program run of the disc and play without installing? And where can i download XBMC? Can it run off a disc too?
My xISO isnt working for some reason right now. Im gonna try to troubleshoot that first, Ill post up later if I make any progress on booting xbmc. I didnt want to keep you hanging
