OK, I've only played around with my Xbox and Dreamcast before, but I was just reading about SDLoader and its ability to boot .DOL files from an SD card and it got me thinking....

Isn't a .DOL file the Gamecube equivalent of an .exe (for PC applications) or .xbe (for Xbox applications)? And isn't is possible to extract the .DOL files from the .GCM file? If so, wouldn't it be somehow possible to load an entire GC game from a 1GB or 2GB Secure Digital card? Are SD cards fast enough?

So what? Well, nothing yet, as anyone can boot GC DVD-Rs using an Anaconda .DOL loaded onto a SD card, but once SDLoader is set up using an Action replay would it be possible to bypass DVD_Read so that the DVD Drive is no longer needed and can be removed.

Please forgive me if I'm totally talking out of my arse, but the GC modding scene has just started to get interesting and I need to know what its capable of.
