power comes on dvd light and hard drive light comes on, fans come on. monitor does not come on and beep does not occur. it has happened in the past but by some miracle it works in a day or so. now same symptoms but it is not fixed.

My dad and I had a simillar issue with one of his computers at work and we had to change the motherboard because when it becomes like this it is in the process of dying.

moved to correct forum as not other topics issue.
disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except for videocard & 1 stick of ram, reseat those 2. try another psu. look at all the can shaped silver topped objects which are capacitors on the motherboard, are they flat topped or domed & maybe leaking brown stuff from the top. try clearing the cmos as have found that to kick start stubborn systems.
