First off, what is the best mod-chip to get? Is there a good no-solder chip? Is it required that you replace the HDD with a larger one? How can you backup a dual layered XBox disc to a single layer dvd-r? I have had a flip-top on my PS2 for nearly a year and backing up my PS2 games is a snap. It would be really great if somebody could direct me on exactly what I need to do to be able to play XBox backups.
hey jay 33, i too have a ps2 with a fliptop, and now ive modded my xbox. sorry to dissapoint you but xbox is a way harder console to mod... seeing that you also have a fliptop, i can tell you dont like to solder, me too. this is the chip i picked, xecuter2.3B lite+.... really, really easy to install. if you are intrested on buying it you should order from www.system-mods.com.. they got the best service guarantee. after you order, and than get your chip, and than succesfully installed it.. you are going to need to flash that chip with a new "Bios".. i think the newest bios out there are 4983.. you can get this here www.eurasia.nu and you also can get the evox3935 file that you are going to need.once you get the chip i can hook you up with more info. im new to this crap too, ive been trying to mod my xbox for a week now. and im still not there yet, im at the last step where you connect your xbox to your pc and make evox3935 permenately on your xbox hardrive. but yea, i reccomend the xecuter 2.3b lite+, if not just find another solderless chip peace
Jdilla, thanks for the info. Do you HAVE to replace the HDD? I would appreciate it if you keep me up to date on how your progress goes. I don't want to get into something like this and then realize I don't know what I'm doing at all.
you dont have to, you can just keep the stock one, you just have to change it if you want to store the games IN your xbox, but if you leave the stock one, just back up your games to a dvd-r. the process is difficult comparing it to the ps2 mod you made to your ps2. this is quite hard.. right now im stuck ftp ing my evox disc to my xbox hardrive,
