Hi all, have a problem at the moment with a box t I set up for a friend. All of a sudden I lost all channels on it. Have tested signal which is strong, have reset it numerous times but to no avail, it just wont find any channels any more have tried another box also but no good. Living in the south west region, another 1 few miles over the road working fine. Really frustrated, since have great signal coming to box. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

i presume when you factory reset you also switched antenna back on in settings before you scan, what firmware is on the box.

Ya I tried with both antenna on and off, I dont have the box with me at the moment, but i think its august 2009, dont ask me what the rest of it is will check this evening. Used the update from eamos library when setting up about six months ago, and it worked grand until last week, came up with channel moved, so reset it and scanned again and nothing. I checked the signal with a tester and its fine. Thanks for the quick response.

I cant switch the key emu on as it wont find the channels at all. Power supply is fine as ive tested the signal with a signal tester. Ive moved the aerial 60 degs, which has improved the signal strength, but still nothing. Just checked the software version, it is api ver:8.04e_E boot ver :7.0 december 22 2008. Im at a loss, thinking of re-flashing it.

im not familar with this box , but can you first check signal levels and let us no. then as the guys say, antenna on, scan for channels, then you need to turn emu on as said above ,

Ive done that but no good, have 3 out of 4 green lights on my signal tester, which is as good as ive ever got, ive picked up channels with less. It was working with lower signal strength before.

kellticwr is it true this box worked fine originally now nothing this means the original flash is ok so it must be the downconverter or the power supply ive seen something similar a few months ago and it turned out to be the power supply,is it 18 or 24 volt supply you need 24 i am also in the southwest region if you want to send a private message by all means do, who knows.

Not sure if its 18 or 24, will check the next day I see it. But would I be getting a signal on my tester if either the power supply or the down converter isnt working. Have a spare of each will try them, might take the box to another house that has 1 that works and connect it there.

forget your tester, on the BOX it will give you signal strength and quality. whats the reading. with regards to power supply if its working right,it should get warm after a while,

Ya, i've come across a few strange things setting up 1 or 2 of these boxes, can be really temperamental, smallest things can upset them. 1 of which was when electric shower, kettle or fire turned on took power away from an electrical outlet, meaning that the power supply couldn't send enough power to the down converter causing signal loss, took time to figure that 1 out:)
