I think I have just been incredibly stupid and updated my box with the wrong firmware....

It will now not come out of standby mode.

Do I now just have an expensive paperweight or is there anything I can do?

I'm expecting it's all over, but any help gratefully received...

    Hi
I would think it totally impossible for anyone to give any help you at all as you have given no details what so ever.

Yes, sorry about that. In my haste to post, I totally forgot. Apologies.

    It is a Black Eurovox DVB-XC Box V TDA 1.0 STC4 April 18 2008

I attempted an update with the Eurovox 1 UK Fix 301108.

    Cheers

Yes that's the first thing I tried to do. However, as the box was stuck in standby mode, the updater program just said "waiting for receiver".

So I decided to just try running the updater exactly as I plugged the box back in with the mains cable.... and hey presto....

    It just immediately started updating!

Think I must have got lucky but if anyone else makes the dumb mistake of installing the wrong firmware, it's worth a try!

    Cheers
