The EV PVR allows to to record and watch but at a limited capacity, i.e you can only record and watch on channels sharing the same TP, (frequency).

The SV4 doesnt have this ability yet, but it is a Beta firmware and should get better.

I'll be honest and say i know nothing about the EV but i do own 2 SF4 USB's (1 in the lounge and 1 in the bedroom) .. i did have a few issues with the old firmware v1.01 (it bricked it error code 8882) but the 1.02b firmware is solid for scanning, very easy to update via the USB finds all channels, firmware is a little bit buggy but its still in beta (picture goes black if you flick through channels to quickly but the 1570 trick sorts that out).. other than that its a small stylish little box that simply works and the usb updating is a must for all future box's ..

Any one. Get a 1GB if you are only using it to flash with. Or an 8GB if you want it for a couple hours recording and pausing live TV. If you want more room use an external HDD.
