    Hi,

My girlfriends laptop cannot access our wireless internet anymore despite there being a strong signal and a connection. Spybot found maran.j on it however it cannot get rid of it. I suspect this trojan is changing network settings or similar as nothing I have tried has fixed the problem.

    Here is a hijackthis log:

Hi. No, there are no popups. When firefox or IE tries get to a url, there is nothing. In firefox there is just a blank screen, in IE it clicks repeatedly very fast while displaying the page not found screen.

The OS is windows media center version 2005.

I havn't tried a system restore as I was hoping there is a way to remove this bug and have things return to normal.

I havn't tried windows defender. I have used spyware blaster, AVG Free and spybot.

Ok go to device manger and make sure the driver for ur wireless adapter is installed. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

Download windows defender/ free download just go here....
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...E7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en

After downloading run a scan on ur computer. Try downloading avast antivirus. I have had great success out of this program. Go here...
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and scroll down and select what version u want and download using this key code to activate.....W56697233H5000A1106-3BW0ANEB
Just click on the desktop icon and activate... then schedule a boot time scan in the menu.

If this dont work then try a system restore. This is a restore to an early point in time. Select a date before this happened. and then restore to that time. Hopefully this will work if the above does not.

Are u using a network card or is it internal in the laptop?
