    Memorex are considered a very poor choice at this time. They buy blanks from many companies that manufacture very poor quality blanks and put the Memorex name on them. Sometimes you may get a good batch but the problem is you never know what you will actually end up with. Stick with TY, Verbatim or Ritek blanks and you should be OK.

    I have used them,I think the opinion of Ad members say to be wary of any brand made by cmc, see what Jerry said above..

    @klv
    Maxell can be good just depends on who manufactured them.
    To id the manufacturer of the disc download this prog:
    http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
    Post back with the manufacturer of those maxell's.

    IMO, Maxell are similar to Memorex but maybe not quite as bad. Here again you never know whats in the package. If you learn to read the outer package you stay away from the bad ones. But its a guessing game again for those that don't know.

    ...and then you have me who loves the maxells. The MIT maxells id out as Ritek R03-02 and the MIJ's are Maxell-002-00 coded. Both are great! Look in the DVD+R forum and you can study media. I have not had a coaster with either the MIT's or the MIJ's.

    Thats what I'm getting at. You can even find a good batch of Memorex SOMETIMES. The problem again is you never know which manufacturer you are going to get. Everyone has their choice. Until I hit a bad batch of Ritek thats still my first choice or TY's when they are on sell. Why take a chance on brands you can't trust.
