Brand??

    I bought an external DVDRW drive in november on ebay (which I regret now) but i'm not sure what the brand is.

    it's a HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4083B

    i know most people won't be able to help, but does anyone a smililar problem?

    I'd be careful upgrading to the latest firmware on this drive. Do a Google on "GWA-4083B". A few people have had problems after upgrading to 1.19.

    I get an error message when trying to install

    "Your system is not configured with this drive. It does not need to be updated"

    Did you use a program to retrieve those details concerning your drive? If not, if you use a program that can identify its details, you can maybe find out some more information. I know Nero has something. I think DVDInfoPro can give you some details too.
