Unfortunately you can not at the moment, but this post might give you some information, it is of little use to you now, but here it is courtesy of Fergus. Please be aware that the new firmware for the box super and the box will not flash on the box if they are clones unlike before where they did the coding has been changed which knows now if the box is a clone and will not let it flash and there is no real difference so it is hard to tell the only thing is the reason they flashed before was the chip had been replaced this time the coding has been targeting another part of the box ( not really sure what it is but that is your answer to non flashing boxes if everything else is correct) So if you have managed to flash and it is bricked then it is likely to be a clone, but you should not have managed it, so it is a little confusing.
I can't guarantee this will work in your case but it is worth a try ... I have done a simillar thing on a box super and managed to revive it by flashing version 8.00 to it THEN flashing 8.02 You've got nothing to lose as it's bricked (I presume it's stuck on the logo screen?) ... But as Malci says, you should not have been able to flash it in the first place with 8.02 if the box is a clone.
i have a similar problem guys. i mistakenly installed clone firmware on a genuine starview box. can this be fixed by simply reinstalling the latest genuine firmware???
Are you saying that you installed Firmware meant for the Starview 1 clone, onto a Starview 3 The Box Super?, if so is there anything showing at all.?
yeh malci thats what happened. there's nowt showing. i was given four boxes which i was told were clones so didn't check them and one of them was a genuine.
But the clone firmware is only for Starview 1, not the Box Super which is Starview 3, so are you now saying that you have 3 SV3s working with the SV1 clone firmware, because they are in no way compatible.!!!!!!!!! And you have definately bricked the one that shows no sign of life, so it is a JTag only possibility for that one.
sorry malci, didn't put that properly. i installed firmware (CryptStar-v1.5-Core257.bin) for 3 cloned starviews successfully but accidentally installed the clone firmware onto a starview genuine box. now this box is showing nothing at all....
Now I am getting confused lol, you accidently put it on what genuine SV3 or genuine SV1, because if it is the SV1 then it should not have been a problem, sorry for the questions danny, but I am intrigued now.
no worries malci. i feel like a gobs***e meself over this. i'm not sure what model type the box is but it's showing nothing at all with the latest clone firmware on it. i installed the previous genuine software on this box during the year with no problems (CryptStar-v1.4-Core400.bin). if i thought i could just reinstall latest genuine software on it that'd be great, otherwise i'll have to give the person my own box. ouch....
