Hi I was just suggesting that you create a new topic title for people to start threads on good and bad ISP providers as there is far too many ISP's that are not giving you what you are paying for and to wait 12 months to switch is scandelous to say that they are breaking there end of the contract.

Also the reason in starting a new topic like this would be to deter people like myself from making the wrong decision as I'v registered with Tiscali and to make matters worse someone [bold]suggested[/bold] it to me.

They advertise 2mb unlimited with the fair usage policy active from 6pm to 11pm if you are a heavy user during this time.

The 2 week cooling off period 2 cancel is complete Bullsh*t as they use this as a ploy to make more people interested I know 3 people with Tiscali broadband and it took over 2 weeks to receive everything so whats the point in having a 2 week cooling off period if you can't test there service in these two weeks!

However the first night I had it I couldn't have been a heavy user as I hadn't downloaded anything and these are the ADSL tests I'v done since then.

    06:00am 1906kb Today
17:00pm 26kb!!! Today and yes I ran the test 3 times!!!
    23:59pm 456kb Today

Whatever you do, [bold]do not[/bold] listen to people when they say that Tiscali's dependable because it isn't!!!!!

Please find it in your hearts to create a new forum topic and I will copy and paste the above into a thread, also maybe everyone at Afterdawn can work together to create a sticky on good and bad ISP's.

    Regards Paul.

    - well you've done that already by starting this thread :)

i've teleported the thread to the relevant forum and renamed the thread title slightly.

Sorry I meant it as a request for a full section devoted to ISP like P2P, PS2 etc etc.

I'v heard that the UK's one of the worst places for dubious ISP's damn the UK, I'v searched thick and thin and theres not one decent ISP that actually does unlimited for a decent price tag.

Cable seems the best option but my area doesn't supply it!

Sure is. I went with Tesco ISP, or rather my parents did.. back when I first got my PC. Ah good old dial-up... then I moved to the country side and was eventually elible to get Virgin Broadband. 512kbps. Great. No problem. They said they would upgrade my internet. 2mb. Even better. During the "upgrade" process, they fecked something up, leaving me without internet access for 5 whole weeks. (1 month 7 days). Then I got it back with 2mb. Had no problems so far. Only damned thing is, I have a 20gb month d/l cap.

I'm right behind ya for emigration!!

The thing that's REALLY p***ng me off right now is the whole UNLIMITED broadband!!! There only a handfull of truely unlimited broadband suppliers out there and the main ones aren't using BT wholesale, which is the cause of the problems!!

I'm on my 5th ISP now (I think) and I was happy with them, until about 4 months ago, when limits, shaping and basically p*** poor speeds came into play!! I'm going to migrate again, just havebn't decided where!!

Emigration sounds really good about now lol.

I think I'm just antsy coz I'm tired, I'm gonna sleep it off.
