hey there...in OZ we get broadband plans that slow us down considerably when we hit 10 gig of download....does anyone know of anyway to bypass this???? even web browsing is slowed done ridiculously and downloading is nearly as bad as dial up??? help guys please!!!!! i doubt anything can be done but i thought i would try....
This should clear your bandwith cap... click start, run and type 'cmd' Type the following and push enter when instructed (do not include the stars): * ipconfig /flushdns (Press Enter) * ipconfig /release (Press Enter) * ipconfig /renew (Press Enter) * exit (Press Enter)
Sorry mate, if you are capped, you are capped! no loopholes! though with the technology of today, who knows what the future may hold?? =)
thanks guys but no go....still running slow as....looks like i'm gonna have to wait till the 1st Nov......
stevatz i've got the same problem as you i wish there was some loop hole or somthin lol i gotta wait till the 11 of nov peace phoenix21
its a pain in the .... do u get capped down to dial up speed?? i'm with Telstra Bigpond and i've been capped...now i've been told from tech support that i have an issue with my connection either cable or modem and a technician has to come out and inspect....my internet is running slower then dial up and takes about 2 minutes per web page
yer im with optus Broadband and i get capped down to 28k whats lower the normal dial up speed really irrating
damn....i'm sick of the big companies...i'm considering going with Dodo 30 gig download $59.90 per month 1500d/256up....and i was told that even if u d/load 30 gig they don't have the ability to cap u..could be worth looking at
30 gigs a lot but im pritty shure with dodo they don't cap u but they charge you for every mb you go over
it does seem like it, but once you get downloading, that will go in no time. some others here (like myself) can easily do 8gb in one day..
true i have had those days and then been left for nearly 1/2 a month capped getting dial up speeds....if only there was a way to not get capped then i'd be a happy man!!! but there ain't so looks like i'm stuck with it!!
Stevatz, Sorry i wasnt more clear, use my method to clear your cap BEFORE you use all your bandwith up, so use it when you are at like 9.9 GB used. Also, If you dont mind me asking, but where do you live? Those prices are ridiculous, here in NYC i have Optimum Online, NO bandwith caps, 9mb (with router) download speed (about 1.1 MB/s) and 900kbit upload speed, and all that for the price of $45 a month....
i'd say me and stevatz both live in aus cause dodo, telstra and optus are all aus compines, with the price of the internet thats normal for over here i only get 400mb a month (crap spose i shouldn't complain my parents are paying for it)and im payin $39.95 a month kinda stupid but anyways what can ya do. Peace Phoenix21
Ok sounds good, you guys down under should hopefully get a quality cable plan soon enough, until then try clearing your cap with the instructions i gave BEFORE you reach your cap... Enjoy!
god in Connecticut i have sbcglobal dsl it stated 3MB and guess what normally i get only like 225/50 which is terrible compare to optiumum i have back then which is also 3MB i get like 500/150 for the same freakin price.
awesome thanks guys....well i'm started a new month and being uncapped is bliss compared to dial up speeds...thanks for the tip i'll do it when i'm close to maxing out my usage...we don't realy have a quality broadband service @ the moment...ADSL2 is being introduced shortly and that can reach crazy speeds but this plan of $59.90 /m is pretty good but the d/l limit of 10 gig is atrocious!!!
Lol the ADSL2 reached something like 6gb/s download rate, so how are you going to be able to optimise the use of the new technology? If you are a downlaoder, Britain is one of the best places to be. The bpi are MUCH less hasty when it comes to suing filesharers (under 100 sued) and we can get 10mb unlimited in most ares. I have a 1mb connection, which i was a little disappointed with @ first (it's the max in our area). But on seeing your 400mb download limits' i feel for you guys!
Well my ISP just upped me from 4 mb to 6 mb and kept the price at $42.50. When I first got cable, it was at 3 mb, but since then its doubled... In eastern Asia, dont they get 25 mb speeds at like $10 USD a month?
I think i read some news article about that in China u can rent ur T1 line for like 2-3 thousand RMB, which is relatively cheap so i mean u do expect these high speed internet to be cheap in Eastern Asia.
