i am looking at the 2 mentioned broadband suppliers,
the package i am looking at is the dogs bolloxs £30 package on each,
these are the only two i can have, with each having no usage allowance/500 g a month for uk online(dont think i will reach that)
    both are 2 mb

    any pro's/con's would be appreciated,

i am from the u.k,so only those based in uk commemts would suffice

AOL will take over your computer and never give it back. If you have any friends who use AOL, tell them to cancel it before it's too late! THE AOLIENS SHALL COME AND GET US!!

There's only 1 thing good about AOL, they have a free customer services helpline and even that has a bad side you have to wait longer than any other helpline in the world !!

slow speed, browser takes up too much space and slows down pc. Always need the browser on to go on the net, long customer helpline and too expensive. Could be more but those came up in 5 seconds ;)

UK Online cheap, fast (30:1 contention ratio) and helpline only takes 2 mins to connect to. Can't think right now ¬_¬

Hi there, I am about to sign up for UK Online 8mbs connection. If anyone is already signed up and wants a free month subscription (£30) then just reply to me and we can try and get that sorted (they offer a month free if you refer a friend.

im on aol, you guys talk some crap! :p

you do not need to use aols browser, i can use Internet explorer just like anyone else. Aols speeds are just the same as all the others, and you get instant help online from agents which none of you do

i also dont have stupid download limits like some providers

everyone hates aol becuase there a big corp, most of the people saying this arent even on or have been on aol

its all hearsay, hursty aol is fine and im on the 2mbps package. but there is that bulldog broadband ive been hearing about recently, there quick

yeah,i just keep hearing that to go on the net, aol's browser has to open,(although minimised)
i use firefox at the mo.

btw, cant get broadband with bulldog, not the 8 mb anyways, just the 2mb,and they need another line putting,as you cannot use bt's line

also,i spoke to a sales guy at uk online and he said, although i can only get 2 mb at the minute, come december everyone will have 8 mb,and those on 8 mb already will have 16 mb
as bt are opening the lines up..so i am totally confused on what to do

    all these conflicting reports...
    hehe

Hey jpp01uk I'd like you to tell me a way to go on the net WITHOUT opening up the AOL browser and no the online help is a load a crap wait 30 mins for that and if they don't know what ur talking about they just log out of the convo... I'm not the one talking BS here ¬_¬

    ha ha ha

search google and configure it, its not hard!

or you could be lazy and do nothing and just open aol, then use IE but aol runs on IE anyway

who said out about BS, but if none of you have used aol you have no right to slag it off. by the looks of it you have, but there helps fine and free

My friends in England used AOL until their computers died, due TO AOL. Customer Service were clueless, as usual. I even asked them a bunch of simple questions for fun, "Sorry, could I put you on Hold at the moment?" Never replied again.
