I have been trying to play back some avi movies on our asus eee using vlc player. I have loaded the films onto a 8gb usb stick from our other laptops hard drive. When we try to play them on the asus from the usb there is a message saying that "the avi is broken and seach will not work,do you want to repair? If so will take a long time to do so". We press no and the first 10 mins or so is played(in good quality) and then the movie stops. This also happens if we try and play the same movie from usb on our other laptop as well. The same movies play perfectly on the other laptop from its harddrive and so we know it is not broken there. Why does the movie seem to be broken when played from the usb. When loading onto usb I have noticed that it seems to load in spurts, does this have anything to do with it? Thanks for any advice. Jim
This may be because the flash drive has a slower read speed than the hard drive try coping the movie back to the hard drive on the computer you are trying to watch it from
