I used camstudio to record my screen to an .avi. The file generated is 3GB, but when I try to play it with Windows Media Player I get the error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.". I tried VLC and it loads the file, plays for less than a second and then it stops. I tried DivFix++ and Divx Repair but haven't get any luck. Any ideas on how to fix it? I don't know if this is the right forum to post this, so if it is not please point me to the right one. I really appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks
Try loading/dragging the file into VirtualDub. If it loads ok, click 'Video' > 'Direct Stream Copy'. Then 'File' > 'Save as AVI' - and give it a new name. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm
