a while back i had a hdd that would be put to use in my xbox. someone referred me to a program that would partion it. i think... anyways, when i used to program on my harddrive it erased everything on it (expected) but it also rendered the hdd completely useless. its not even detectable to my computer. what the hell is wrong with it?
if its of any use, its a maxel 40gig.

If that program partitioned the drive for use in an XBox, it might just be possible that Windows or even your computer will not recognize the partition format...or the drive itself for that matter.

You should re-wipe the drive with either DriveScrubber or the drive's diagnostic disk which you can get from the manufacturer's site.
